Hotel Briol in Barbiano

Hotel BRIOL in Barbiano nestles into a hillside at an altitude of 1310 m above sea level. The hotel, like the neighbouring villas, is in the vicinity of unspoilt alpine meadows and forests which descend steeply to the Valle Isarco. The view of the Val Gardena with the impressive Dolomites is breath-taking. Away from all the hustle and bustle, Briol is like an island of tranquillity - a perfect idyll.

Hotel Briol can only be reached by foot or taxi jeep.

Arrival

We look forward to your visit and giving you a warm welcome at Hotel Briol from 15:00. Someone from our team is always there to assist you.

Briol

Briol, a place of retreat. The surrounding larch forest and alpine pastures invite you to go on gentle or demanding hikes. The peace and quiet of the area is invigorating and revitalising, away from the hustle and bustle. The hotel is designed in the Bauhaus style.

Washing lines

“The guest may not have reached their destination yet they are greeted by freshly laundered bed linen blowing in the wind.” Our bed linen is always dried outside in the fresh mountain air, so the rooms are fragrant with the scent of alpine flowers.

Catering

At Briol we offer half board with meals to our guests. This includes a hearty breakfast buffet, a salad buffet at lunchtime and a 3-4 course evening menu of typical South Tyrolean cuisine. Our culinary offering mainly consists of regional and seasonal produce and many “homemade” dishes. We also cater for vegetarians.

Really switch off

At Hotel Briol you won’t find any TVs, only warmth, tranquillity and natural beauty. However, we do provide wireless for our guests.

Swimming pool

After a demanding hike what better way to cool down than dipping into South Tyrol’s first swimming pool. Feel the invigorating effect of the ice cold spring water whatever the weather.

Forest sauna

Sweat it out in our small forest sauna. Just tell us an hour before so we can turn up the heat for you.

Dogs

Dogs are more than welcome at BRIOL upon request. Please note that dogs are not allowed into the dining room out of consideration for the other hotel guests.

Communal bathrooms

Baths are not provided in the rooms at Hotel Briol since this would not be in keeping with the character of the hotel. We aim to preserve the simplicity of the hotel, as it would have been in 1928. Instead there are three recently modernised communal bathrooms with shower and WC for our guests on each floor.

Season

While preserving the style of the hotel, we have also kept the opening hours. Briol was built as a summer resort and is open from May to October. Sometimes we adjust our opening hours to the winter, which sometimes lasts longer.

Heating

If it gets too cold for our guests on the mountain in the summer, hot water bottles are provided for each guest which they can take up to their room.
